Origin and meaning

In the La Vallée-de-la-Gatineau RCM, east of the Gatineau River and Maniwaki, this township is named after Kensington, a residential neighborhood in west London near Kensington Park. It is home to the famous Nottingham House castle. Queen Victoria was born there in 1819. Proclamation: 1871. See: Déléage (municipality).
