Origin and meaning
The new municipality of Montcerf-Lytton was created on September 19, 2001. Located about twenty kilometers from Maniwaki, on the northwest edge of the inhabited area of the Gatineau region, it was formed by the merger of the municipality of Montcerf and the municipality of Lytton Township. La nouvelle municipalité de Montcerf-Lytton a été créée le 19 septembre 2001. Située à une vingtaine de kilomètres de Maniwaki, à la limite nord-ouest de la zone habitée de la région de la Gatineau, elle est issue du regroupement de la municipalité de Montcerf et de la municipalité du canton de Lytton.
