Although it is still unknown what particular event the name of this parish municipality, established in 1902 and which became a municipality in 2003, refers to, it is part of the Outaouais theme of municipalities dedicated to the Virgin, such as Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours-Partie-Nord, Notre-Dame-du-Laus, La Conception, L'Annonciation, eloquent witnesses to the propagation of names linked to the Virgin by the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, who were missionaries and parish priests throughout the region.

Note that "Queen of Peace, pray for us" is one of the important invocations of the Litany of the Blessed Virgin.

Located approximately 20 km north of Montebello, this agricultural municipality was detached partly from Saint-André-Avellin, partly from Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours-Partie-Nord and is watered in its southern section by the Little Red River.

One of the main local resources of the Pacific people, the potato, was in the past the subject of a country fair celebrated in July, the Potato Festival.

Bien que l'on ignore toujours à quel événement particulier fait allusion l'appellation de cette municipalité de paroisse érigée en 1902 et devenue municipalité en 2003, elle s'inscrit dans la thématique outaouaise des municipalités consacrées à la Vierge comme Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours-Partie-Nord, Notre-Dame-du-Laus, La Conception, L'Annonciation, témoins éloquents de la propagation des noms reliés à la Vierge de la part des Oblats de Marie-Immaculée, qui furent missionnaires et curés dans toute la région.

À noter que « Reine de la paix, priez pour nous » est l'une des invocations importantes des Litanies de la Sainte Vierge.

Sise à environ 20 km au nord de Montebello, cette municipalité agricole a été détachée en partie de Saint-André-Avellin, en partie de Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours-Partie-Nord et est arrosée dans sa section sud par la Petite rivière Rouge.

L'une des principales ressources locales des Pacificiens, la pomme de terre, a fait par le passé l'objet d'une fête champêtre célébrée en juillet, le Festival de la patate.
