Origin and meaning
This township, located north of Montebello, is very well watered, particularly by the Little Red River and Suffolk Creek, which feeds it. The former is a tributary of the Petite Nation River. There are numerous lakes, some of which are scattered throughout the valleys of the Little Red River and the Little Red River East, which are located at an altitude of approximately 210 m near their confluence. The highest point in the relief reaches 380 m. The name Suffolk, which is already found on the Gale and Duberger map in 1795, is borrowed from a county in England located 120 km northeast of London. Coming from Sudfulc, Sudfolka, it means the people of the south. The opposite counterpart of this toponym is Norfolk. Proclamation: 1874.

Les lacs y sont nombreux et certains d'entre eux s'égrènent dans les vallées de la Petite rivière Rouge et de la Petite rivière Rouge Est qui se situent à environ 210 m d'altitude près de leur confluence. Le point le plus élevé du relief atteint 380 m. Le nom de Suffolk, qu'on trouve déjà sur la carte de Gale et Duberger en 1795, est emprunté à un comté d'Angleterre situé à 120 km au nord-est de Londres. Provenant de Sudfulc, Sudfolka, il signifie le peuple du sud. Le pendant de ce toponyme, à l'opposé, est Norfolk. Proclamation : 1874.
